Production Art Technician
Location: Mason City, Iowa
Shift: 7:15 am - 3:45 pm, Monday through Friday
Pay Range: $19 - $20/hour
This role is not a creative design position. Think of it like a newspaper layout role—receiving artwork and accurately setting it up for production. Precision, consistency, and strong computer skills matter far more than artistic creativity.
This role is a strong fit if you are VERY comfortable with computers and Adobe Illustrator.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Receive customer-provided artwork and prepare it for production
- Lay out and build production-ready files with high accuracy
- Clean up logos and artwork for digitizing
- Review proofs and follow established artwork procedures
- Maintain organized digital files and archives
- Work primarily in Adobe Illustrator (Photoshop and other Adobe tools are a plus)
- Support production quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
What We’re Looking For
- Strong, hands-on experience with Adobe Illustrator (required)
- Well-above-average computer skills
- Comfortable working at a computer for most of the day
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow structured processes
- Able to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and work independently
- Prior layout, prepress, or production art experience is a strong plus
This role is not suitable for candidates without Illustrator experience or those looking to “learn as they go.”
