Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Bonner Springs, KS | $30–$50/hr
Express Employment Professionals is currently hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics for a long-term project in Bonner Springs, KS. This project is expected to last 5+ years, offering stable, consistent work for skilled mechanics who can troubleshoot and repair heavy machinery.
Pay & Schedule:
- $30.00–$50.00/hr (based on experience)
- 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- 6 days per week
- Long-term project work
- Primary locations: Bonner Springs, KS and Lincoln, KS
- Travel may be required depending on company needs
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and scheduled repairs
- Troubleshoot equipment failures using diagnostic tools and service manuals
- Repair and replace major components including engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, and cylinders
- Inspect and maintain undercarriage components, tracks, rollers, idlers, and cutting edges
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals
- Maintain service records and maintenance documentation
- Operate equipment as needed for troubleshooting and repairs
- Complete work safely while minimizing equipment downtime
Requirements:
- 3+ years of heavy equipment repair experience
- Experience diagnosing and repairing equipment independently
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, powertrain components, and heavy electrical systems
- Experience using diagnostic software such as Cat ET, Insite, or similar programs
- Must have your own tools
- Valid driver's license required
- Willingness to travel as needed
Preferred Experience:
- Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, or Volvo equipment experience
- Experience working on excavators, dozers, graders, scrapers, or haul trucks
- Welding/fabrication experience
- Mining, excavation, or heavy civil construction background
