Job Full Description
Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Detroit, MI
Position Type: Full-Time
Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 6pm- 6am
Pay: $20 – $30 per hour (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, performing necessary repairs, adjustments, or replacements.
* Observe mechanical devices in operation, identifying and addressing potential issues.
* Adjust shredder parts as needed to maintain optimal performance.
* Maintain and troubleshoot electrical components of machinery.
* Dismantle equipment to access and replace defective parts.
* Inspect and measure used parts to determine necessary adjustments or replacements.
* Repair or replace defective components to restore proper function.
* Test equipment after repairs to ensure operational efficiency.
* Set up and operate tools such as drills, grinders, hydraulic systems, and presses for part fabrication and repairs.
Additional Requirements:
* Lift and transport heavy objects (20+ lbs) over short distances (20 feet or less).
* Move lighter objects (under 20 lbs) over longer distances (more than 20 feet).
* Perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
* Work in various weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
* Learn job-related tasks through hands-on training, verbal instruction, and observation.
* Reach overhead and climb ladders or steps to access equipment and materials.
* Follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
* Collaborate effectively with team members and interact professionally with the public.
