Stick Welder / MIG Welder Trainee
Express Employment is currently seeking a dependable and motivated Stick Welder for a full-time opportunity with a growing manufacturing client. This is a great opportunity for someone with 7018 stick welding experience who is interested in expanding their skills — the company is willing to train the right candidate on MIG welding.
Location River Rouge, MI
Pay: $18–23/hr
Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Friday: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Perform stick welding using 7018 low hydrogen rod
- Assist with fabrication and production welding tasks
- Read and follow basic weld specifications and instructions
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Support production deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Learn MIG welding processes through hands-on training
Qualifications
- Experience stick welding with 7018 rod required
- Basic fabrication or manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to work long shifts in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn MIG welding and additional shop skills
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely
