Inventory Control Specialist Job Summary

A local furniture manufacturer is adding an Inventory Control Specialist to their growing team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, coordinating material flow between departments, and ensuring production has the parts and materials needed to meet schedules. The Inventory Control Specialist serves as the link between purchasing, production, and shipping to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.

Inventory Control Specialist Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to support production schedules and customer orders
  • Coordinate material movement between departments and ensure timely replenishment of components
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and work with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to investigate root causes
  • Analyze usage trends and assist with forecasting material requirements
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions in the ERP/inventory management system
  • Assist in planning and scheduling production jobs to align with material availability
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and material flow
  • Prepare inventory and production reports for management review
  • Participate in physical inventories and cycle counting programs
  • Ensure all materials are properly labeled, stored, and handled according to company procedures

Schedule and Pay:

  • 1st shift, 8:00am-5:00pm Mon-Fri (OT as needed) - flexibility on start and end time
  • $22.66/HR

Inventory Control Specialist Qualifications

  • Previous experience in inventory control, production coordination, or material planning preferred
  • Experience with a forklift preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments
  • Proficiency with inventory management or ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
