Assistant to the President Job Summary

A local non-profit organization is seeking a highly organized and proactive Assistant to the President to support executive leadership while overseeing day-to-day office operations. This key role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and enjoys balancing administrative leadership, operational coordination, and organizational support. The Assistant to the President will play an integral role in keeping internal processes running smoothly while supporting the organization’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the President, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and communications
  • Manage office operations, systems, and vendor relationships, including IT, finance, and insurance providers
  • Oversee HR administration functions such as onboarding, benefits coordination, payroll support, and personnel records management
  • Support board and committee meetings by preparing agendas, recording minutes, and maintaining documentation
  • Assist with budgeting, reporting, and compliance filings
  • Lead special projects and identify opportunities to improve organizational processes and efficiency
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive organizational and personnel information
  • Perform additional duties and administrative support tasks as assigned

Schedule and Compensation

  • Full-time, salaried, exempt position
  • Evaluation hire
  • Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000/YR., based on experience

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in office management, business administration, or a similar role; nonprofit experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Experience with HR administration, bookkeeping, and office systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; database experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and manage confidential information with professionalism
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach to work
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
