Material Handler Job Summary:
An automotive manufacturing company is seeking a material handler to assist their team. This position requires a team member who will be responsible for warehouse organization, staging product to and from the line, and updating the ERP system. The role requires flexibility, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Material Handler Responsibilities:
- Understands the upcoming production requirements and priorities.
- Operate Hi-Lo (forklift) safely to move materials throughout the facility.
- Supply production lines with materials and remove finished products.
- Load, unload, stage, and organize inventory accurately.
- Communicates shortages to supervisors by providing documentation of open shop orders requiring completion or open POs to be supplied to planners.
- Verify and put away all incoming materials to the proper location in the Warehouse.
- Physically picks all parts required for each job and transacts any material movement in the ERP system using scanners, computers, or other devices.
- Pull, kit and stage all parts to the specified production area.
- Performs any scrap transactions in ERP system to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Continued follow-up with supply departments regarding required shop orders and their completion.
- Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Schedule and Pay:
- 2nd shift: 3:00pm-11:00pm Mon-Fri, OT on weekends
- $18.00/HR + $1.25 shift premium
Material Handler Qualifications:
- Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions.
- Operate Hi-Lo (forklift) safely to move materials throughout the facility.
- In-depth knowledge of the ERP system.
- Strong understanding of the overall product flow within the operation.
- Extensive knowledge of individual parts and warehouse locations.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work regular schedules set forth by the Management team.
- Must be a strong team player.
