Job Full Description
Press Tender Operator Job Summary: Join a fast-moving print team where you’ll work side-by-side with skilled press operators to keep high-quality jobs running smoothly. As a Press Tender Operator, you’ll help set up materials, monitor production, and keep the press line flowing. It’s a hands-on role with room to grow and learn the full printing process.
Press Tender Operator Responsibilities:
- Check work orders to make sure you have the right paper, ink, and run size.
- Set up the stacker and bundler to create labeled bundles ready for the bindery.
- Load the correct paper or material into the press and keep track of setup sheets, damaged sheets, and materials being reused.
- Make sure bundles meet bindery needs and are labeled correctly.
- Safely stack, wrap, and organize pallets before moving them from the press area.
- Dispose of waste properly and keep your area clean.
- Help the Operator and learn to run the press when needed.
- Assist with basic maintenance to keep machines running smoothly.
- Follow production and quality standards, and follow all safety rules.
- Refill press supplies at the end of your shift.
Schedule & Pay:
- 2nd shift 3:00pm-11:00pm; Monday-Friday (OT as needed)
- $18.00/HR+ DOE
Press Tender Operator Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in printing manufacturing
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional variables.
- Able to lift up to 70lbs
- Basic math skills (add/subtract), and ability to use a measuring devices.
