A scrap facility located in Detroit, MI is looking for a Scale Clerk to aide in their facilities operations. Must have some clerical experience.
$18/hr
6am-4pm/ M-F
This position is a contract to hire role through Express Employment.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Accurately inspect all materials ensuring correct weights, materials description, and grade for all inbound and outbound loads
- Determine the grade of the material and enter it into the inventory system
- Operates scale computer, applying correct material and inventory codes
- Prepare proper paperwork for shipments
- Communicate effectively with transportation, customers, management, and yard employees
- Report fraudulent activity, and report all accidents and injuries timely
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math, computer, account reconciliation, and data entry skills
- Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks at once
- Ability to complete assignments promptly with attention to detail
- Work cooperatively with other employees and the public
- 1 year Warehouse Experience
- 1 year Customer Service Experience
- Ability to work outside in all weather
