Service /Burner Technician (Remote - Up to 100% Travel)
Salary: $60,000 - $85,000 per year
Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Remote (Preference for candidates living east of the Mississippi River)
Travel: Up to 100% travel required
Join a Leading Industrial Combustion Service Team
We are seeking a skilled Burner Technician to support industrial customers across the eastern United States. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in burner systems, industrial maintenance, HVAC, combustion equipment, electrical troubleshooting, or process controls. The successful candidate will travel extensively to customer sites, primarily asphalt plants, performing installation support, startup, troubleshooting, tuning, maintenance, and repair of burner systems and related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform startup, commissioning, tuning, maintenance, and repair of industrial burner equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot combustion systems, electrical controls, instrumentation, and related equipment
- Service equipment at industrial job sites, including asphalt production facilities
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, control drawings, and mechanical blueprints
- Inspect and troubleshoot motor starters, VFDs, instruments, sensors, and control systems
- Document field service activities and prepare detailed service reports
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations to customers
- Ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with company and customer standards
- Travel extensively throughout the eastern United States to support customer operations
Qualifications
Required
- 2-3 years of experience working with burner equipment, combustion systems, HVAC systems, industrial maintenance, or a related technical field
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and tuning industrial equipment
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints
- Experience working in industrial environments and varying weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 100%
Preferred
- Associate’s degree in electrical technology, Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field plus 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Experience working with:
- 120V control circuits
- 230V-460V motor starters and VFDs
- Low-voltage instrumentation and controls
- P&ID loop controllers, transmitters, and process instrumentation
- Basic understanding of instrumentation and control systems
- PLC troubleshooting and programming experience
- Experience writing technical service reports
