Landfill Laborer / Outdoor General Laborer – $18.00/Hour
Express Employment Professionals is hiring a dependable, hardworking Landfill Laborer for an outdoor labor position!
Looking for a hands-on job that keeps you physically active? We are seeking an individual to assist with landfill grounds cleanup and litter removal. This position involves picking up trash and debris throughout a landfill, maintaining outdoor areas, and helping keep the facility clean.
This is a very physically demanding outdoor labor job that requires walking, climbing steep hills, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy bags of trash.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Job Responsibilities – Landfill Cleanup & Grounds Maintenance
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Pick up loose trash, litter, and debris that has blown throughout the landfill.

Walk and climb steep hills to access designated cleanup areas.

Collect trash by hand and fill approximately 10 garbage bags per shift.

Lift, carry, and transport filled garbage bags weighing approximately 30–40 pounds each.

Carry collected trash bags down steep hills at the end of the shift.

Perform continuous walking, bending, lifting, and physical labor throughout the workday.

Help maintain clean and orderly outdoor landfill grounds.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Candidates must be comfortable with:

Climbing very steep hills multiple times throughout the workday.

Walking for extended periods on uneven terrain.

Repeated bending, lifting, and picking up trash by hand.

Filling approximately 10 bags of trash per shift.

Carrying garbage bags weighing 30–40 pounds down steep hills.

Working outdoors in ALL weather conditions, including freezing temperatures, extreme heat, rain, snow, sleet, fog, wind, and humidity.

Working in a landfill environment with strong and unpleasant odors.
This position involves manual trash collection and litter cleanup. There is no avoiding the physical demands or outdoor working conditions.
Qualifications

Dependable with a strong work ethic.

Physically capable of performing repetitive lifting, bending, walking, and climbing.

Comfortable lifting and carrying 30–40 pounds repeatedly.

Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Comfortable working in a landfill environment.

Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks.
Previous landfill, waste management, sanitation, groundskeeping, landscaping, construction, or general labor experience is helpful but not required.
