Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Cottage Grove, MN
Employment Type: Full-time, Evaluation to Hire
Wage: $23.50+ DOE
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage customer billing, payments, and collections. The ideal candidate will ensure timely posting of payments, maintain accurate financial records, and build strong relationships with customers while supporting overall cash flow and accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and apply daily payments (check, credit card, ACH) accurately and promptly.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up with customers regarding outstanding balances.
- Resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies with professionalism.
- Manage credit holds, refunds, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all AR transactions.
- Support month-end close and reporting activities.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 1–2 years of accounts receivable or general accounting experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Experience with ERP/accounting software.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
