Job Summary:

The Commercial Construction Project Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities for commercial building projects. This position ensures that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with all design specifications, quality standards, and local codes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Oversight:

Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities, subcontractors and laborers.

• Schedule Management:

Develop and maintain the construction schedule, ensuring milestones are met and project

deadlines are achieved.

• Quality Control:

Ensure construction is completed to specifications, drawings, and standards. Conduct regular inspections and resolve any issues that arise.

• Safety Compliance:

Enforce job site safety procedures and regulations. Conduct daily safety meetings and site

inspections to ensure a zero-incident environment.

• Subcontractor Coordination:

Manage subcontractors’ scope of work, monitor performance, and resolve scheduling or quality issues.

• Material Management:

Oversee delivery, storage, and use of materials onsite. Coordinate with suppliers to prevent

delays.•

Communication:

Serve as the primary on-site liaison between project stakeholders, including project manager, architects, engineers, inspectors, and clients.

• Documentation:

Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, inspection records, and incident reports. Ensure proper documentation is submitted and stored.

• Problem Solving:

Address unexpected challenges and changes with swift, efficient solutions to minimize

disruption.

Experience:

Minimum 5-7 years of superintendent experience in commercial construction projects (e.g.,

office buildings, retail, healthcare, industrial).

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.

• Certifications:

OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR; LEED, PMP, or other construction certifications are a plus.

• Skills:

-Strong leadership and team management abilities

-Excellent organizational and time-management skills

-In-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and building codes

-Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings

-Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, MS Project)

Working Conditions:

• Full-time, on-site role at active construction job sites

• May require extended hours, nights, or weekends depending on project demands

• Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing ladders, and exposure to outdoor weather
