Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced IT Project Engineer on behalf of a respected local communications and integration company. This position plays a crucial role in transforming sales and engineering documentation into actionable plans and technical resources used throughout the build and delivery of advanced communication systems.
This role will collaborate closely with multiple internal departments to ensure accurate execution of customer specifications and will oversee key aspects of IT configuration, documentation, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Functional Duties:

Translate bid documentation into comprehensive build plans and materials.

Develop detailed technical documents including:
-
Cable Runs Spreadsheets
-
Rack Layouts
-
Equipment Interconnect Spreadsheets
-
Antenna Layouts
-
Network Configuration Documents
-
Cable & Equipment Test Spreadsheets
-
Create and maintain project-specific engineering notebooks (OneNote) and Visio diagrams.
-
Prepare and release Bill of Materials (BOM), configurations, processes, and procedures.
-
Support IT Integration and Procurement teams with ongoing documentation updates.
-
Ensure timely configuration of IT devices and perform final testing and sign-off of completed builds.
Project Lifecycle & Engineering Responsibilities:

Participate in system design, reverse engineering, and component selection.
-
Provide feedback and documentation for internal and external technical reviews.
-
Lead and document kickoff meetings for IT Integration teams.
-
Contribute to R&D efforts for new products or customer requirements.
-
Coordinate testing and validation efforts with Sales and Production teams.
-
Assist in managing engineering projects from concept through production release.
-
Provide after-hours support as part of a rotating engineering on-call schedule.
General Engineering Duties:

Analyze customer specifications, schematics, and drawings.

Recommend system modifications and component specifications.
-
Support Production and Quality Control with technical resolutions.
-
Develop and implement manufacturing/testing procedures.
-
Document and analyze competitive products and field performance data.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Associate’s degree (or higher) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or Electronic Engineering.

Experience in voice and data networking environments.
-
Strong understanding of system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.

Proficient with IP networking, hardware integration, and technical documentation.

In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Microsoft-based environments.
