Job Full Description
Our client located in Vestal, NY is in need of technical writers for Mechanical subject matter. This is a Hybrid position with a majority of the work done remotely!
Position is long term as company intends to hire on!
Pay is $18-$20/hr based on experience
Hybrid Schedule
Hours can be flexible between 6am-6pm Mon-Fri
Ideal Applicant:
- High mechanical aptitude
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Good typing/computer skills
Job Description
Duties may include any of the following aspects of technical documentation development.
- Developing maintenance (repair, replacement) procedures from engineering drawings,
photos, videos, subject matter expert interviews, etc.
- Working with graphic illustrators in support of the publication effort.
- Working with desktop publishers in support of the publication effort.
- Participation in project, department and/or customer program meetings and review
Qualifications
- Superior written and verbal communication
- Experience in a Technical Field with working knowledge of technical documentation, including manuals and training materials.
- Availability of Secure internet connection at home
- Ability to work within a defined scope and meet deadlines
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics
- Skilled in word, excel, & Access
- Willingness to Travel as needed is required!!!
- Veteran/Military background is a plus
