Accounting Manager

Express Employment is working with a local healthcare facility in need of an experienced Accounting manager to oversee the day to day operations of their organization's accounting functions.

This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and the effective management and development of the accounting team. The Accounting Manager plays a key role in financial analysis, budgeting, and process improvement while promoting a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including financial reporting, internal controls, policies, and procedures

  • Recommend, implement, and maintain effective internal controls in compliance with GAAP

  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and projections

  • Perform in-depth financial analysis and provide recommendations for process and performance improvements

  • Participate in the development and management of departmental budgets and the organization’s annual budget process

  • Oversee accounting department staffing, including workload planning and resource allocation

  • Interview, hire, train, coach, and evaluate accounting staff

  • Set performance goals, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development

  • Lead process development, documentation, and special projects as assigned

  • Foster a positive, constructive, and collaborative work environment

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field

  • Preferred: CPA or CPA-eligible

Experience

  • Required: Minimum of 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience, including supervisory experience and staff training/development

  • Preferred: Experience in a healthcare organization

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting best practices

  • Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to see trends and communicate actionable insights

  • Strong organizational, leadership, time-management, and communication skills

  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
