Inside Sales Representative
Job Summary
Express Employment is working with a local manufacturing client seeking a detail-oriented Inside Sales Representative to support customer accounts, quotations, and order management.
This role serves as a key point of contact for customers and works closely with internal teams to provide accurate pricing, delivery timelines, and product information.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, responsive, and customer-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Success in this role depends on strong communication, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone and email
- Provide accurate pricing, product, and delivery information to customers
- Prepare, submit, and follow up on customer quotations
- Support RFQ activity, including gathering information and tracking requests through the system
- Enter and manage customer orders and delivery updates in ERP system (JD Edwards preferred)
- Verify delivery dates and assist with resolving delays or order issues
- Coordinate with internal teams (Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, Accounting, etc.) to resolve customer concerns
- Support return authorizations and repair processes through completion
- Maintain accurate customer account data, including pricing, part numbers, and delivery details
- Review open orders and order history to identify and resolve potential issues
- Assist with monthly sales forecasting and reporting activities
- Prepare reports and spreadsheets to support sales and account management
- Support domestic and international order processing, including documentation requirements
- Communicate escalated customer issues through appropriate channels
- Develop working knowledge of products, applications, and customer needs
- Provide feedback on customer trends, product issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Travel as needed to support customer relationships and business needs
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required
- 4+ years of experience in customer service, inside sales, or order management
- Experience in a manufacturing or technical environment preferred
- Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred)
- Experience supporting domestic and/or international orders a plus
