Sheet Metal Welder / Fabricator

Express Employment has immediate openings in the Rochester Area for Sheet Metal Welders & Fabricators

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components using hand and power tools
  • Perform welding (MIG, TIG, or Stick) on various metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Measure, cut, bend, and shape metal materials to precise specifications
  • Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as press brakes, shears, rollers, and saws
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Troubleshoot fabrication issues and make necessary adjustments
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (technical training or certification preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and/or welding
  • Proficiency in MIG and/or TIG welding (certifications a plus)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Experience with fabrication tools and machinery
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

  • Welding certification (AWS or equivalent)
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)

Work Environment

  • Industrial/manufacturing setting
  • Exposure to heat, noise, and metal materials
  • Required use of PPE (gloves, helmet, safety glasses, etc.)
