Machine Operator – Forming (Manufacturing)
Shift: B Shift (Mon–Thurs, 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM)
Pay: $20/hr + shift differential
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join a growing manufacturing team. This role is responsible for safely setting up and operating forming machines, maintaining quality standards, minimizing scrap, and completing all required documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor forming machines to meet or exceed production standards
- Ensure all machines are operating safely and in compliance with safety procedures, including proper guarding and lockout/tagout requirements
- Perform routine quality inspections and escalate concerns when necessary
- Monitor and minimize material scrap, ensuring accurate documentation
- Read and follow job packets, blueprints, routing sheets, and production schedules
- Stage materials, tooling, and equipment for upcoming jobs
- Train and support team members, including machine packers
- Complete shift handoffs to ensure smooth transition between operators
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Assist with inventory counts, job closeouts, and material handling
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to improve processes and production efficiency
Qualifications:
- Previous machine operating experience required (or equivalent experience)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to adapt to changing production needs and priorities
- Basic computer and documentation skills required
