Job Title: HR Generalist
Location: Enka-Candler, NC
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $28/hr
Position Overview:
Our client in the Enka-Candler area is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their team. This position plays a critical role in managing human resources functions, supporting employees, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR operations, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing employee inquiries and requests.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified candidates in collaboration with departmental managers; manage the Applicant Tracking System (iCIMS).
- Conduct background checks and verify employee eligibility, including completing and maintaining I-9 documentation.
- Lead pre-hire processes, new hire orientations, and benefits onboarding.
- Foster employee engagement and accountability through relationship-building on the production floor.
- Draft company communications and organize engagement events.
- Administer HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, performance management, safety, and training.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommend and review best practices to maintain adherence.
- Attend and participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Perform administrative duties, including creating letters and documents, data entry, filing, and purchase requisitions.
- Oversee the performance review process to ensure constructive and timely evaluations.
- Serve on HR committees and manage related communications and events.
- Assist with terminations and process required documentation.
- Protect confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- SHRM-CP credential preferred.
- At least two years of relevant experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
