Job Full Description
Position: HAZWOPER Technician/ Manual Labor
Position Duties: Involves performing various manual labor tasks associated with HAZWOPER operations.
USDOL Strength Criteria: Heavy (CRT Body Index Score 226+)
Physical Requirements:
· Must have the ability to wear a tight-fitting, negative-pressure respirator, and occlusive chemical protective clothing.
· Position requires working on uneven work surfaces and frequent pushing/pulling/carrying of equipment/objects/debris of varying and often awkward sizes, shapes, and weights, including bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling of tank truck hoses.
· May occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and frequently lift 40-50 pounds.
· Frequently climbs ladders, stairs, etc.
· May use hand manual and power hand tools and/or hand shovel with exposure to noise and vibration.
· Periodic to frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals with designated personal protective equipment.
· Exposure to elements including heat and cold stress and nuisance dust conditions and woodland, streamside, and swampland flora and fauna. May work up to 12 hours per day, seven days per week.

Required PPE: For HAZWOPER operations, USEPA Level B, C, or D: Tight-fit, air-purifying respirator, hard hat, safety glasses with side shields, steel-toe safety shoes/chemical protective footwear, ear plugs, leather and chemical work gloves, chemical protective clothing, and other as required by specific task.
Medical Clearance: NON-DOT Physical, Respirator Clearance, Medical Notification form (Physical exam clearance)
Training Requirements: HAZWOPER 40 or equivalent, CSE, Be safe Training, Site-Specific Orientation 3 days of on-the-job Training
