Job Overview
Express Employment Professionals in Akron is partnering with a respected manufacturing client in Barberton, OH to hire a Rubber Manufacturing Team Lead. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with strong production experience and a focus on quality, continuous improvement, and team accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform first-piece and hourly quality checks in both press and trim operations
- Set and communicate daily production goals based on customer demands
- Track and review production performance; collect and verify daily reporting sheets
- Provide performance feedback to management on team members
- Monitor workflow through production cells and address issues impacting delivery timelines
- Assist with production planning and scheduling
- Execute metal insert receiving processes using AS9100-compliant documentation
- Conduct cycle counts for customer-owned materials
- Ensure proper use and accuracy of compliance documentation
- Identify failure trends and implement immediate corrective actions
- Verify accuracy of shipping paperwork and coordinate with packing team
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, and AS/ISO compliance
Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, preferably rubber or plastics
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment
- Strong understanding of quality control processes
- Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO standards is highly preferred
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
