Summary Description:
An experienced HR professional with expert knowledge of policies and programs relevant to HR functions in a manufacturing environment. While providing comprehensive HR support to a diverse group of leaders in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace, the primary focus of this role is leave administration. This includes managing all aspects of employee leave, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations, and serving as a key resource for employees and managers throughout the leave process.
Responsibilities:
- Administers FMLA/OFLA/PLO, including tracking and communication with managers and employees, ensuring all legal requirements are adhered to, with a high level of attention to detail.
· Assist Safety Program and Workers Comp / Return to Work processes, including: tracking and communication to managers regarding employees with active claims, management of time loss payments, SAIF payroll report creation and annual audit, assistance with BJO creation
· Assists in investigation and resolution of employee complaints and coordinates response process to all complaints.
· Assists and advises managers in cases of employee performance concerns; disciplinary action and conflict management.
· Audits compliance with major HR laws: FLSA, ADA, FMLA, Equal Pay Oregon, applicable payroll laws, on a quarterly and as needed basis
· Conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with senior management.
· Assists with policy development and update of employee handbooks.
· Respond to human resources-related inquiries, providing support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leave, policy, procedure, and compensation, and helps to resolve any issues that may arise
· Preserves employee confidence and protects operation by keeping HR information confidential
· Cross trains to support a variety of HR competencies (payroll, benefits, recruitment/onboarding, etc)
- Assist with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to align the workforce with strategic company goals
- Communicates HR best practices and new regulations to site leaders as they pertain to operations
- Continuous improvement and implementation of best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law+
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience managing benefits processes, including paid family leave.
