Summer Parks Maintenance Worker
Location: Albany, OR
Pay: $19.00/hour
Position Type: Seasonal / Temporary
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Summer Parks Maintenance Worker to help maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of local parks and outdoor spaces. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in keeping public areas well-maintained.
Responsibilities
- Perform general landscaping and grounds maintenance duties.
- Weed flower beds, landscaped areas, and walkways.
- Spread bark dust and mulch.
- Lay sod and assist with planting flowers, shrubs, and other vegetation.
- Pick up litter and help maintain clean park facilities.
- Perform light custodial duties, including cleaning park amenities as needed.
- Operate and drive a city truck and John Deere Gator between work locations.
- Follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Valid Oregon Driver License (ODL) required.
- Clean driving record required.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Previous landscaping or grounds maintenance experience is helpful but not required.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods.
