Shipping Coordinator
Location: Lebanon, Oregon
Pay: $23.00
Job Summary
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily shipping activities and ensuring orders are prepared, documented, and shipped accurately and on schedule. This position works closely with warehouse, production, transportation, and other team members to keep shipments moving efficiently while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor daily shipping activities and schedules.
- Prepare and verify shipping paperwork, labels, and documentation for accuracy.
- Enter and maintain shipping information in ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Communicate with internal teams and transportation providers regarding shipment schedules and priorities.
- Help prioritize shipments and adjust plans as production and transportation schedules change.
- Monitor loading areas and assist with coordinating the movement of materials.
- Operate a forklift as needed after completing required certification.
- Ensure shipments are properly prepared, loaded, and handled to prevent damage.
- Identify and communicate shipping issues, delays, or discrepancies.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shipping area.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Assist with other warehouse and shipping duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Previous forklift experience preferred, with the ability to become forklift certified.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing production and shipping schedules.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing and shipping environment requiring standing, walking, dock oversight, and operational mobility throughout the facility.
- Regular exposure to forklift and warehouse operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing shipping deadlines and transportation schedules.
- May require schedule flexibility and overtime based on business needs.
- Must be comfortable working around warehouse equipment, materials, and loading areas.
