Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator (Temporary) – Corvallis, OR
Pay: $18.25/hour
Schedule:
Monday–Friday
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs
Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable and safety-focused Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team in a temporary, full-time position. This role is responsible for safely loading, unloading, and transporting raw materials and finished products throughout the facility while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring timely shipments. The ideal candidate has previous warehouse experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
Load, unload, and transport raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
Verify shipments match packing lists and shipping documentation.
Inspect products for quality before loading and report any discrepancies.
Prepare products for shipment, including palletizing, stretch wrapping, and banding.
Accurately complete shipping, receiving, inventory, and transportation records.
Perform inventory counts and report low stock levels.
Maintain an organized warehouse and storage areas.
Operate a yard tractor to move trailers to loading docks as needed.
Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
Work closely with warehouse, production, and customer service teams to ensure accurate and timely shipments.
Cross-train in other warehouse functions and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience required.
Current forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
Valid Oregon driver's license required.
Basic computer skills; experience with inventory or warehouse management systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic math skills and the ability to accurately complete shipping documentation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Physical Requirements
Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Frequently lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
Perform repetitive bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and lifting.
Work in a physically demanding warehouse environment, including temperatures that may exceed 100°F.
Ability to work overtime, extended shifts, and weekends as needed.
