Job Title: Pallet Sorter (General Laborer)
Position Summary
The Pallet Sorter (General Laborer) is responsible for hand-sorting wooden pallets, boxes, plastic bins, and other materials throughout the distribution center. This role supports operational efficiency by meeting production goals while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The position requires physical stamina, attention to quality standards, and adherence to company safety policies and performance expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Hand-sort and stack wooden pallets and other materials according to company standards
- Inspect pallets and materials to verify conformance to quality specifications
- Load and unload materials manually
- Move materials on pallets or in crates throughout the facility
- Ensure loads are stable, secure, and properly arranged
- Follow all work instructions and safety procedures
- Maintain expected production efficiency and performance standards
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
- Achieve operational results while upholding company Core Values and Safety Standards
- Perform additional general labor duties as assigned
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, outdoor elements, and airborne particulates
- Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Repetitive bending, stooping, walking, turning, pivoting, and standing for the duration of shifts
- Ability to maintain balance and demonstrate good hand-eye-foot coordination
- Frequent use of hands to handle, reach, and feel materials
- Regular standing and walking throughout shifts of varying lengths
- Noise levels vary depending on facility location
