Crew Leader – Landscape Maintenance
Position Summary
The Crew Leader is responsible for supervising a landscaping team while actively participating in daily maintenance and enhancement services. This role ensures high-quality workmanship, efficient route execution, strong client relationships, and adherence to company and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Supervision
Lead, direct, and support a team of landscapers to ensure efficient and high-quality performance.
Assign daily tasks, provide hands-on guidance, and monitor productivity.
Promote a positive team culture built on accountability, communication, and collaboration.
Motivate team members to consistently meet company quality standards.
Route & Schedule Management
Operate company vehicles to service assigned residential and commercial properties.
Plan and follow efficient route schedules to maximize productivity and ensure timely service completion.
Communicate with office staff regarding weather delays, client requests, or schedule adjustments.
Landscape Maintenance & Enhancements
Perform and oversee landscaping services including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, fertilization, irrigation maintenance, and related tasks.
Ensure all work aligns with company standards, industry best practices, and client expectations.
Identify concerns related to plant health, irrigation systems, pest activity, or landscape design and implement appropriate solutions.
Client Relations
Engage professionally with clients on-site, responding to questions or requests promptly and courteously.
Provide clear updates on completed work and recommend ongoing improvements when appropriate.
Represent the company with professionalism to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Equipment & Safety Compliance
Maintain and safely operate all tools, vehicles, and equipment.
Enforce company safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Conduct routine safety meetings and report equipment issues or hazards promptly.
Documentation & Reporting
Accurately track labor hours, materials used, and services performed at each property.
Complete required documentation, including timesheets and maintenance reports, in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Experience: 2–3 years of landscaping experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of landscaping practices, horticulture, and equipment operation.
Leadership Skills: Ability to lead teams effectively with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
Organization & Time Management: Capable of managing schedules and maintaining productivity across multiple properties.
