Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of six (6) years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Ongoing participation in professional development and industry networking (e.g., ISM, APICS, or similar organizations)
Strong understanding of inventory management principles and control strategies
Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize data from multiple sources to develop actionable sourcing strategies
Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and operational workflows
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems, with the ability to effectively navigate digital tools
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across internal teams and external partners
Expertise in evaluating cost, quality, and inventory metrics to identify sourcing and process improvement opportunities
Proven ability to build partnerships, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives and timelines
Comfortable working in ambiguous environments while driving continuous improvement
Ability to align sourcing strategies with long-term organizational goals

Responsibilities
Play a key role in executing procurement strategy through market research, supplier engagement, and cross-functional collaboration
Source raw materials and packaging solutions to support product development, commercialization, and operational efficiency
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing strategies
Identify materials and components that meet quality, cost, and sustainability objectives
Mitigate supply risks by diversifying the supplier base using a risk-based approach
Conduct ongoing market research to track industry trends, pricing, and supplier developments
Prepare and share regular market reports to inform strategic purchasing decisions
Recommend sourcing actions based on market conditions, including commodity shifts and tariffs
Maintain sourcing documentation and supplier databases
Collaborate with R&D and Engineering to evaluate and qualify new materials and technologies
Work with suppliers to identify cost-reduction opportunities
Represent the organization at trade shows, supplier meetings, and industry events
Support continuous improvement initiatives using structured change management methods
Participate in team meetings, issue resolution, and performance reporting
Engage in continuous professional development and networking
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards (e.g., SQF, FDA, USDA)
