Direct Hire – Press Operator Assistant
Location: Gresham, OR
Pay: $26.07/HR
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday | Must be open to overtime, including occasional 10–12 hour shifts, early mornings, nights, or weekends as needed

We’re currently seeking a Press Operator Assistant for a full-time, direct hire role with a premier packaging manufacturer in Gresham, OR. This position plays a hands-on role supporting the Press Operator and press crew to keep production running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Press Operator with all aspects of press operation
  • Run the press during operator absences
  • Supervise press feeder and helper team
  • Help with make-readies, cleaning blankets, and roller changes
  • Maintain accurate SAP/PEAK reporting and job prep paperwork
  • Support plant schedules and quality standards
  • Follow safety procedures and report any hazards
  • Keep work area clean and organized

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1–3 years of manufacturing or print-related experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and take initiative
  • Must not be colorblind

Computer & System Skills:

  • Familiarity with SAP or PEAK reporting systems a plus
  • Comfortable with computers and job documentation systems

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, climbing, crouching, kneeling, and twisting
  • Must be comfortable working above ground (on top of press platforms)
  • Requires coordination of eyes, hands, and feet
  • PPE required: Safety/steel shoes, glasses, hearing protection, etc.
