Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shop Helper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of our warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory control, and maintaining efficient shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse environment and possess strong skills in order picking, loading, and unloading packages, and forklift operation.
This is a part-time role, with opportunity to progress into a full-time position. Must be willing to train and grow within the role, with the intention of learning to operate the press brake machines and other duties within a fabrication workshop.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of the delivery against purchase orders.
- Inspect packages for damage and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload products safely.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking orders, packing items securely, and labeling packages accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency within the distribution center.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing of orders and adherence to shipping schedules.
- Be willing to learn how to operate press break machine.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts; certification is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to perform order picking tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
- Physical ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
