Job Overview
We are seeking a Skilled Carpenter to join our dynamic construction and restoration team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in residential carpentry, framing, and finishing work, with a strong foundation in interpreting construction plans and technical drawings. This role involves executing precise woodworking tasks, utilizing hand tools and power tools safely, and contributing to various projects including remodeling, restoration, and new construction. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to quality craftsmanship, safety standards, and efficient project completion. Must be willing to teach and lead others, including volunteers!
Key Responsibilities:
- Working Tuesday - Saturday. 7am - 3pm.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide construction activities
- Perform framing, trim carpentry, cabinet installation, door hanging, and siding work with precision
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for woodworking, metal stud framing, and fixture installation
- Execute drywall finishing, plastering, stucco application, and water damage restoration tasks
- Install roofing materials, flooring, tiles, and perform masonry or masonry-related tasks
- Conduct rebar installation, concrete forming, plumbing rough-ins, electrical wiring, and other related construction duties
- Ensure adherence to power tool safety protocols while handling heavy lifting and fabrication tasks
- Assist in restoration projects involving mold remediation, water damage repair, or structural repairs
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, carpentry, and woodworking within residential or restoration industries
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools for woodworking and metal framing equipment
- Strong understanding of construction plans, schematics, technical drawings, and interpreting technical specifications
- Knowledge of wood construction materials such as siding, trim components, cabinetry materials
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols including power tool safety practices
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical strength such as rebar installation or roofing work
- Prior experience in remodeling projects or restoration industry is highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in fabrication or fixture installation tasks
- Valid relevant certifications or licenses related to carpentry or construction trades are preferred
