Responsibilities:

Installation: Install new heating, cooling, and ventilation systems according to blueprints, specifications, and manufacturer instructions.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance to ensure systems are operating efficiently. This includes cleaning components, checking fluid levels, changing filters, and lubricating parts.
Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment. This involves troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, replacing defective parts, and performing emergency repairs.
Testing and diagnostics: Conduct performance tests on various units, test electrical circuits, and use test equipment to identify problems or verify that repairs have corrected malfunctions.
Customer service: Interact with customers to understand their needs, explain services and repairs, and provide system maintenance advice.
System calibration: Adjust system controls to optimize performance and ensure proper temperatures are maintained.

Qualifications:

Technical knowledge: Proficiency with a variety of systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration units.
Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and solve complex electrical, mechanical, and electronic problems.
Physical stamina and strength: Must be able to lift heavy equipment and work in potentially cramped or uncomfortable spaces.
Blueprint and schematic reading: Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and specifications.
Safety compliance: Knowledge of and adherence to all relevant safety regulations and codes.
Technology skills: Familiarity with modern computerized components and software used in the trade.
