Sporting Goods Manager

We are seeking an experienced Sporting Goods Manager with a strong background in hunting and fishing products, as well as expertise in purchasing and inventory management. This role is responsible for overseeing the sporting goods department, ensuring optimal product selection, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Department Leadership: Manage daily operations of the sporting goods department, including staffing, scheduling, and training.
- Product Expertise: Provide knowledgeable assistance to customers on hunting and fishing gear, firearms, ammunition, and related accessories.
- Purchasing & Vendor Relations: Source and purchase products from approved vendors, negotiate pricing, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, conduct regular audits, and implement strategies to reduce shrinkage and optimize inventory turnover.
- Sales & Merchandising: Develop and execute merchandising plans to maximize sales and maintain appealing product displays.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in retail management, preferably in sporting goods or outdoor recreation.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of hunting and fishing equipment, firearms regulations, and outdoor sporting trends.
- Skills:
- Inventory management and purchasing experience
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
