Brake Press/metal Fabrication Operator
Pay: $17.00–$20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Position Type: Full-Time
Brake Press / Metal Fabrication Operator
We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Brake Press / Metal Fabrication Operator to join our team in Richardson. This position is responsible for reading part drawings and blueprints, understanding dimensions and specifications, and accurately forming metal parts using a brake press.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret part prints, blueprints, and drawings.
- Understand and accurately interpret dimensions, measurements, angles, and tolerances.
- Set up and operate a brake press to form and bend metal parts.
- Measure finished parts to ensure they meet print specifications.
- Inspect parts for accuracy and quality.
- Follow work instructions and production specifications.
- Use basic measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and other shop measuring equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and understand mechanical part drawings is critical.
- Strong understanding of dimensions, fractions, decimals, and measurements.
- Previous brake press or sheet metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Manufacturing or metalworking experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Reliable, dependable, and willing to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Training:
Brake press experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who has strong print-reading and measurement skills. The most important requirement is the ability to look at a part print and understand exactly what the finished part should look like and how its dimensions should be interpreted.
