Job Full Description

• Drive on-time, cost-effective, and secure international delivery for the business clients and own all aspects of international carrier management to ensure cost-effective and consistently acceptable service is maintained
• Partner with Planning and Warehousing to manage carrier capacity and expedite the shipments per the client requirement, approved cost, and lead-time
• Oversee daily operations of forwarders and 3PLs for import freight movements
• Negotiate and set rates for the shipping lanes (for Surface, Ocean, Forwarder, Air, and Expedited freight carriers, and US Customs Duty)
• Assist in setting international transportation rates and maintain a database of rates for purchasing leverage across the enterprise
• Lead a team of Import-Export Coordinators to ensure the timely and efficient movement of merchandise and supervise auditing and payment of freight bills and invoices for export and import shipments
• Make decisions and recommendations regarding recruitment, advancement, salary, performance management, training development, employee relations, and develop staff to ensure professional and technical knowledge and create succession plans
• Establish and use tools to monitor and track performance (EDI, routing, lead time, cost optimization) support Sales/Customers with services that includes expediting time sensitive cargo, cargo visibility tools, and excellent communication protocols
• Ensure Shippers’ Letters of Instruction, Freight Forwarder Powers-of-Attorney, and other required documents from suppliers and related-parties are maintained for review as needed
• Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully, work well in group problem solving situations and offer solutions
