Facilities Maintenance Mechanic

Monday thru Friday

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 DOE

 

Job Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure that buildings, equipment, and facilities are safe, operational, and well-maintained. This position plays a key role in ensuring the functionality, comfort, and safety of the workplace or facility environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing filters, light bulbs, belts, and checking fluid levels.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls.
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds as required/scheduled.
  • Assist in managing and coordinating vendors or contractors for specialized repairs or projects.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools and workspaces.
  • Monitor building automation systems and report abnormalities or malfunctions.
  • Assist with furniture assembly, and general facility support.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and procedures.
  • Maintain records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Performs dyno and other testing on motors alongside of QC Manager.
  • Perform inventory on new liquids, sandblast media, propane, and floor dry.
  • Perform yard duties to include mowing, weeding, watering, trimming trees.
  • Perform town runs for supplies as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in general building maintenance or related trade.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Physically able to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and perform manual labor.
  • Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HVAC or other trade certification.
  • OSHA 10/30 or other safety training certification.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
