Location: Lubbock, Tx
Full-Time Position
Pay: $65,000 per year

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Product Designer to join our engineering and design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment design and drafting, with proven expertise using SolidWorks to develop manufacturable, high-quality products. This is a hands-on role that involves close collaboration with engineers and fabrication teams to turn innovative ideas into functional, production-ready designs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Prepare and maintain design documentation, including part lists, specifications, and revision control.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous product improvement and innovation.
  • Support prototyping and testing by providing design input and implementing necessary modifications.
  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in equipment design and drafting, preferably in an industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (required).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, fabrication methods, and materials.
  • Ability to interpret and create technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial Design, or related field) is a plus but not required.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with sheet metal, weldments, or heavy equipment design.
  • Familiarity with PDM systems and manufacturing workflows.
  • Practical knowledge of GD&T and dimensioning best practices.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and understanding of real-world fabrication constraints
