Position Summary

The Field Chemical Specialist supports field operations by ensuring all production chemical systems function safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role monitors chemical programs, performs equipment maintenance, troubleshoots abnormalities, and collaborates closely with field personnel, vendors, and leadership teams.

You will play a critical role in keeping operations optimized, compliant, and safe.


Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold and promote the company’s safety standards and core values with all field vendors

  • Troubleshoot and resolve chemical-related issues or route them to the correct personnel

  • Oversee all chemical processes, including installation, repair, and maintenance of chemical pumps

  • Track and maintain inventory of pumps, parts, and equipment; monitor repair data

  • Review and approve chemical invoices and verify accuracy

  • Partner with field teams to analyze monthly reports and follow up on required tasks

  • Lead monthly chemical reviews with vendors and internal teams; participate in weekly meetings

  • Ensure proper chemical hookups for new wells and maintain inventory levels to prevent tank depletion

  • Install, maintain, and monitor chemical automation equipment

  • Manage vendor-led sampling and analysis (coupon, water, oil, residual, ATP testing)

  • Identify and treat paraffin issues on producing wells

  • Collaborate with vendors to address rejected oil tank treatments


Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Strong data management abilities, including updating, extracting, and managing database information

  • High-level analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills across all levels—management, field teams, contractors, and vendors

  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, manage deadlines, and recommend process improvements

  • Programming or systems efficiency skills are a plus


Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or another physical science preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of production chemical experience required

  • Lease operating or field experience is a plus
