Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Seasonal Personal Tax Preparer to join a local team for the upcoming tax season. In this role, you will assist clients in preparing and filing accurate individual income tax returns while providing excellent customer service and ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual (1040) tax returns
- Collect and organize client tax documents and financial information
- Communicate with clients to clarify information and provide guidance
- Accurately enter data into tax preparation software
- Identify potential deductions, credits, and tax‑saving opportunities
- Ensure all returns comply with IRS and state guidelines
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information securely
- Meet deadlines and manage multiple client appointments
- Provide exceptional customer service during in‑person or virtual meetings
Qualifications
- Previous experience preparing personal tax returns required
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws
- Experience with tax software (e.g., TurboTax, TaxSlayer, Drake, ProSeries, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Comfortable working with clients and explaining tax concepts clearly
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
