Overview
A local CPA firm is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with a strong background in public accounting. This role is ideal for a bookkeeping professional who understands the unique financial workflows, compliance needs, and operational nuances of restaurant businesses and enjoys working in a client-facing, professional-services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full-cycle bookkeeping services
- Maintain accurate general ledgers, chart of accounts, and financial records
- Process client accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Reconcile daily restaurant sales, POS reports, merchant services, cash deposits, and tip/fee allocations
- Track food cost, inventory purchases, prime costs, and other specific metrics
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Support CPAs with tax preparation documentation and year-end financial packages
- Maintain organized client files and ensure confidentiality at all times
- Follow firm policies, deadlines, and best practices for client service
Qualifications
- 2–3+ years of bookkeeping experience required
- Experience in public accounting or a multi-client environment strongly preferred
- Prior experience working with restaurants or hospitality clients highly desirable
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online/Desktop required; Xero a plus)
- Experience with restaurant POS systems (e.g., Toast, Square, Aloha, Micros) is a strong plus
- Solid understanding of restaurant accounting concepts:
- Daily sales reconciliation
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and client-service skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
Pay $28 - 30/hr
Hours Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5pm
