Master Electrician – Residential & Commercial Service
We are seeking an experienced Master Electrician to provide technical leadership, oversee journeymen electricians, and ensure high-quality electrical service work across residential and commercial projects. This role is ideal for someone who excels in supervision, training, code compliance, and customer communication.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train up to four journeymen electricians, reviewing their work and ensuring safe, accurate, and compliant service delivery.
- Serve as the company’s Qualifying Individual (QI) and ensure all work meets NEC and Virginia code requirements.
- Lead daily service operations, troubleshoot electrical issues, support technicians in the field, and maintain consistent quality across multiple job sites.
- Communicate clearly with homeowners to explain work, build trust, and ensure customers feel safe and informed—not pressured.
- Support occasional after-hours or emergency service needs as required.

Equipment Used
- Diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, circuit analyzers, and insulation testers.
- Power tools including drills, impact drivers, knockout sets, and conduit benders.
- Installation tools including torque wrenches, wire strippers, crimpers, fish tape, and labeling tools.
- Safety equipment including PPE, lockout/tagout devices, insulated tools, and standard jobsite protective gear.
- Jobsite technology and mobile devices for documentation and communication.
Skills Required
- Strong NEC and Virginia code knowledge with advanced troubleshooting ability.
- Effective leadership skills with proven experience supervising or training electricians.
- Clear, customer-friendly communication that builds trust and ensures a positive service experience.
- Ability to manage multiple job sites, support teams, and maintain high standards of work quality.
Experience Required
- Active Virginia Master Electrician License (DPOR).
- At least eight years of electrical experience in both residential and commercial environments.
- Prior experience supervising electricians or electrical crews.
- Hands-on experience with panel upgrades, service changes, generators, 3-phase systems, and commercial lighting.
Education Required
- Completion of training and requirements necessary to obtain a Virginia Master Electrician License.
- Ongoing CEUs as required to maintain licensure.
Hours
This full-time, in-person position follows standard daytime hours, with a weekly Thursday afternoon check-in. Occasional after-hours or emergency service may be required based on customer needs.
