Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Delivery Driver to join our team. This role is crucial to ensuring that all goods are delivered efficiently, safely, and on time. The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards. As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for operating delivery vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries, and supporting the operations of the dealership.
Responsibilities
- Deliver goods as assigned, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to the correct locations.
- Plan and map out the fastest, most efficient routes to meet delivery schedules.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition and report any issues or need for repairs.
- Ensure all required paperwork, such as receipts, is completed and issued to customers upon delivery.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding any delays or issues during deliveries.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented environment by supporting fellow technicians and department staff.
- Stay informed on product knowledge and dealership procedures, actively seeking to improve skills.
Experience
- Prior experience in a delivery or driving role preferred, with a good understanding of driving safety protocols.
- Strong familiarity with using GPS systems and online map lookups to plan delivery routes.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for conducting routine inspections and making minor repairs to delivery vehicles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 70 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Willingness to work extended hours, including Saturdays, to meet customer demands.
- Ability to work both outdoors and indoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and maintain documentation accurately.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with team members and supervisors, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
