Location: Centralia, WA

Pay: $28 per hour

About the Role
This position is responsible for operating and maintaining molder machines and performing precision knife grinding to support the production of custom wood components, including garage doors and decorative spindles. The role is hands-on and critical to ensuring the quality, consistency, and craftsmanship of our high-end wood products. The ideal candidate will have experience in woodworking machinery, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.


Responsibilities
• Set up and operate molder machines to shape wood components according to custom profiles and specifications.
• Perform knife grinding operations including cutting, squaring, balancing, and profiling steel knife stock.
• Maintain and calibrate cutter heads, spindles, fences, and feed systems for optimal performance.
• Inspect finished wood parts for quality, smoothness, and dimensional accuracy.
• Collaborate with production and design teams to ensure profile accuracy and finish quality.
• Follow safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and machine lockout/tagout procedures.
• Maintain grinding equipment and tools, including wheel dressing and lubrication.
• Document tooling setups, knife profiles, and maintenance logs.
• Train new team members on molder operation and knife grinding best practices.


Qualifications


• 2+ years of experience in molder machine operation and knife grinding in a wood 
manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with woodworking machinery such as Weinig, Powermatic, or similar.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wood profiles.
• Strong understanding of grinding wheel types, grit selection, and knife balancing.
• Knowledge of wood species and their machining characteristics.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, dusty environment.
• Vocational training or certification in woodworking or industrial machinery preferred.
• Experience with high-end or custom wood products is a plus
