Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals of Mount Vernon is excited to partner with a respected local hospital to recruit an experienced Leave and Benefits Specialist to join their HR team. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced healthcare environment and brings both technical expertise and a compassionate, employee‑focused approach.
What you get to do:
- Support the administration of human resources policies, procedures and programs
- Administer federal and state leaves, reasonable accommodations, general leave of absence and benefit administration as a primary focus
- Manage all aspects of Leave Administration, including employee communication, eligibility review, FMLA processing, medical certifications, return-to-work coordination, and accurate recordkeeping
- Support ADA accommodation requests and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws
- Administer health, life, disability, and retirement plans
- Process enrollments, changes, COBRA, and claims
- Maintain benefits records
- Coordinate with vendors
- Support open enrollment and benefits communications
What you need to be successful:
- Strong confidentiality, accuracy, and customer service skills are essential
- Experience working with HRIS software applications and/or other products, or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS system
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an HR Generalist or HR administration experience
- Experience in Healthcare setting preferred
- Associate degree in HR or equivalent job-related experience
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:30AM to 4:00PM
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 (DOE)
