Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is now hiring an Industrial Painter / Media Blaster for a great opportunity in the Madison area! This position is ideal for someone with previous wet paint experience who takes pride in quality workmanship, safety, and attention to detail. This individual will be responsible for surface preparation, media blasting, painting, quality control, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Pay: $23-26/hour
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 5 am-3 pm (OT available)
Work includes:
- Pre-cleaning and rinsing parts before media blasting
- Performing media blasting to meet established quality standards
- Applying primers and topcoats by airless spray
- Applying stripe coats of primer to appropriate areas
- Properly masking, covering, and protecting surfaces that will not be painted
- Mixing and thinning primers and topcoats correctly
- Maintaining and cleaning all spray equipment
- Troubleshooting minor spray equipment issues as needed
- Performing touch-up work on finish painted pieces
- Operating quality control instruments
- Recording required quality control data at designated hold points
- Correcting non-compliant work and performing necessary rework
- Supervising Class B painters to ensure quality, process, and safety compliance
- Cleaning and organizing the work area
- Following all company safety rules and requirements
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of wet paint experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong understanding of proper substrate preparation
- Ability to understand and follow quality control procedures
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs independently and team lift up to 80 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment
