Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, as well as repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role includes general building repairs, troubleshooting and fixing machinery, and performing work related to plumbing, heating, wiring, and structural upkeep. The technician inspects facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards and assists in identifying, planning, and scheduling major repairs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform general upkeep and minor building repairs.
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on equipment and facility systems.
  • Perform machine changeovers and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment or assets.
  • Maintain hand tools, power tools, and supplies in an organized and clean condition.
  • Perform general machine maintenance, including oil changes.
  • Paint and stain interior and exterior surfaces as needed.
  • Shovel snow and apply salt to sidewalks and parking lots as required.
  • Maintain building systems to ensure the facility remains in good working order.
  • Keep accurate records of completed maintenance tasks.
  • Follow all safety procedures and adhere to assigned work schedules.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry practices.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding work.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment
