Dispatcher

Pay: $24–$25 per hour

Position Summary

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing the efficient movement of freight by assigning loads, routing drivers, and serving as the primary point of contact for assigned customers. This role ensures timely, safe, and compliant delivery operations while maintaining strong customer and driver relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign loads and route drivers based on available hours of service, delivery requirements, and customer needs.
• Act as the main point-of-contact for an assigned customer base, monitoring loads from tender through final delivery.
• Perform supervisory duties as needed, including coaching drivers, planning workloads, assigning tasks, addressing complaints, and resolving operational issues.
• Communicate customer concerns or service issues to the appropriate departments in a timely and professional manner.
• Monitor trailer pools at assigned customer locations and coordinate trailer movements to support operational efficiency.
• Identify and address trailer detention issues, providing guidance and solutions as needed.
• Verify driver hours of service (HOS) to ensure all operations comply with safety and legal regulations.
• Balance driver time-off requests with business needs to maintain consistent freight movement.
• Establish and maintain positive, professional working relationships with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
• Receive, interpret, and execute instructions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance to support operational continuity.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
