Summary
The Inside Sales Associate is responsible for re-engaging customers who have not placed recent orders and reactivating dormant or declining key accounts. This role focuses on outbound outreach, understanding customer needs, and rebuilding relationships to drive repeat orders and incremental revenue. The Inside Sales Associate will partner closely with the Sales Team, Customer Service, and Marketing, to strengthen account activity and support overall business growth.
Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited To:
- Conduct outbound calls to accounts that have not placed recent orders, with the goal of reactivating purchase activity.
- Re-establish relationships with dormant key accounts by identifying reasons for inactivity and presenting updated product offerings, pricing, or solutions.
- Maintain a consistent follow-up cadence with inactive accounts to keep J&K top-of-mind and rebuild buying habits.
- Analyze sales history to prioritize outreach based on revenue impact, customer potential, and past purchasing behavior.
- Document all interactions, customer updates, and opportunities accurately in the CRM system.
- Work with Customer Service and Operations to ensure customer inquiries, sample requests, and orders are handled promptly.
- Provide product information, pricing, promotions, and relevant material to support customers in placing orders.
- Identify trends in account inactivity and share insights with the Sales and Marketing teams to support targeted campaigns.
- Meet monthly activity expectations for outbound calls, account touches, and reactivation targets.
- Assist in cross-selling and upselling based on customer needs, usage trends, and past purchasing behavior.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and customer service in all communications.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in inside sales, account management, customer service, or outbound call environments preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills; comfortable with high-volume outreach.
- Ability to understand customer needs, handle objections, and rebuild trust with dormant accounts.
- Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
- Organized, goal-driven, and able to manage a large book of accounts with consistent follow-up.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, ingredients, food, or B2B environment is helpful but not required.
Success Metrics:
- Number of inactive or dormant accounts reactivated
- Increase in order frequency from targeted accounts
- Revenue generated from reactivated accounts
- Outbound activity metrics (calls, emails, touches)
- CRM accuracy and pipeline management
