Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, On-Call Rotation Required
Pay: $23/hour
A Birmingham-based Commercial Real Estate Company is seeking a full-time Commercial Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of properties across our management portfolio. This role plays a key part in preserving and enhancing the value, safety, and appearance of our clients’ real estate assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs, preventive maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of commercial buildings
- Conduct routine property inspections to ensure vendor work quality, identify repair needs, and maintain clean, safe environments
- Report any issues or deficiencies to the property manager and maintenance coordinator
- Develop and carry out preventive maintenance schedules for facilities and equipment
- Submit detailed monthly property inspection reports
- Assist in gathering contractor bids and repair cost estimates
- Communicate daily with property management team to provide updates and receive assignments
- Respond promptly and professionally to tenant requests via the Skyline Work Order System
- Serve in after-hours on-call rotation for emergency maintenance needs
- Interact courteously with tenants, clients, and contractors
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold industry safety and quality standards
- Perform duties including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and general building repairs
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3–5+ years of commercial property maintenance experience
- HVAC systems knowledge required
- Strong understanding of tools, equipment, and materials used in building and grounds maintenance
- Skilled in basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (subject to periodic checks)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with email and computer systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, professional, and safety-minded
